4G Students held a local youth mission work trip during Spring break. Middle school students from Brackettville took the opportunity to express God’s love and their appreciation for the community through a service project. Bible teaching, recreation, and an exciting tour of the exotic game was provided on a local ranch. They began their service project by clearing brush on the fence-line along the south side of Highway 90, as you enter Brackettville from Del Rio. Keith Clift of Blackbrush Ridge Ranch graciously hosted lodgin...

In February, Brother YJ, was invited to put on a Freedom Conference in Mescalero, NM. Our team was able to stay in a lodge owned by members of First Baptist Ruidoso. There were 20 people who attended on the first evening in the tiny building. Many decisions were made before and after the service. The Freedom Conference is designed to help people overcome life issues through God’s Word - it is a very powerful event.

This Spring, our Church hosted Financial Peace University, led by Charlie and Rhonda Marquardt. A total of 14-16 individuals attended the class each week. The attendees in this class were very dedicated and have paid off debt at a rapid rate. Financial Peace University teaches people to live on a budget. You would be amazed at where money is wasted! This particular class started with over $300,000 in debt, total. In nine weeks, as a class, $41,000 in debt was paid off, 23 credit cards were cut up, and they saved $16,000 as a...

December is an exciting month for our Children’s Ministry! In Children’s Church we are learning the meaning of different Christmas Carols and how they relate to the birth of Jesus. We participated in the Kinney County Frontier Christmas lighted parade, where several of our students got to ride on a float decorated with lights and signs about our different ministry opportunities within the church. We have almost 30 children who have been working hard on our Christmas program for this year. They have been learning lots of Chri...

Some of our first responders headed out to begin aide for Hurricane Harvey. Later, several from our church spent the afternoon sorting through and packing supplies to go to Houston. A crew of three men headed out at 3:00 AM to deliver donations and help with clean-up for a few days. Thank you to all who have donated, helped, and prayed. Please continue to keep our crew in prayer, as well as all who have been effected by Hurricane Harvey.

This summer our Youth attended camp at Zephyr in Sandia, Texas. A group of 15 teens and adults got to experience camp, where they grew in a deeper relationship with Christ and each other. Then the Youth went on a Mission Trip to Houston. They spent a week ministering to the homeless and preparing meals. It was such an incredible time for each of them and very eye-opening for all who were able to attend. Barkley also took the kids on several local trips to witness and have a little fun as well.
