Rev. Jeff Janca is the Pastor of First Baptist Church Brackettville since 2005. He was born and raised in Houston, Texas.
In August of 1977, while attending a Bible Study in a home, he gave his heart to Jesus and became a Christian after hearing a passage of Scripture from Romans 10:9-10.  "That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation."
In August of 1980, he was licensed to the ministry by Westbury Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.
He graduated from Howard Payne University in 1981. That same year he and his wife, Pam, were married. They have two daughters. In 1990, Brother Jeff was ordained by Milton Ave. Baptist Church in Brownwood, Texas.

Over the years, he has ministered in revivals in Wyoming, Minnesota, Kansas and Nebraska. He has also served in churches in the Texas cities of Early, Brownwood, Corpus Christi, Big Spring, Forsan, and now Brackettville. Brother Jeff has served as a Music Director/ Worship Leader, Associate Pastor, and Pastor.

His ministry philosophy is summed up in his statement of the following: "I am called to glorify and exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and to present and proclaim to the Church and the world a solid Gospel message based on the Word of God.  No gimmicks, no gadgets, no gizmos, and no gobbledegook, just the Gospel of Jesus Christ."

His favorite books in addition to the Bible are: "Not Peace But A Sword" by Vance Havner,  "Hudson Taylor's Spiritual Secret" by Dr. Howard Taylor,  "Why Revival Tarries" and "Revival Praying" by Leonard Ravenhill, "What Every Christian ought To Know" by Adrian Rogers, "In Light Of Eternity" by Mack Tomlinson and "My Utmost For His Highest" by Oswald Chambers.
