FBC Brackettville History
Rev. F.M.D. Hill started First Baptist Church Brackettville in 1921. He originally came to work with the soldiers that were stationed at Fort Clark. Rev. Hill saw the need for a Baptist Church and he began organizing it. He became the first pastor of First Baptist Church.
In 1946 the Church purchased the Chapel on Fort Clark and moved it to the present location in Brackettville at the corner of N. Ann Street and Veltman. The Education building was added in 1955 and the Sanctuary was later remodeled in 1984. In the Fall of 2011 the Fellowship Hall area was remodeled making it a dual purpose area able to accommodate Sunday School Classes and Fellowship Dinners.
There have been many Pastors who have faithfully served here at First Baptist Church. They are listed at the bottom of this page. In November 2005 Rev. Jeff Janca was called to serve as Pastor of First Baptist Church.
In the Summer of 2011 seeing the need to reach our Youth more effectively FBC brought in Jake Earnheart to be the Youth Director. FBC Brackettville is committed to loving and ministering to the people
of Kinney County. Our desire is to share the love and life of Jesus
Christ with everyone and to see Him touch and transform hearts and
lives. We do this through outreaches to children, youth, women, and
men. We actively support and pray for SBC missionaries.
At First Baptist Church Brackettville "We Are Family" and we invite you to come and worship with us and experience the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
